As a research fellow, I have the primary responsibility of conducting demand-driven research and on a limited-basis, providing teaching support to other faculties in the university. Within my centre however, I also serve as a monitoring and evaluation officer, where I support my colleagues in the design of Monitoring and Evaluation plans and systems for proposals and projects, respectively. Additionally, I am also part of the resource mobilization efforts within the centre to spearhead new projects in the areas of coastal management. A few of the projects include the Ghana Fisheries Recovery Activity, the Distant Water Fishing Vessel Project both funded by the US State Department. Once new projects are launched, I also provide the necessary support to ensure that they are implemented successfully to completion. Lastly, my role at the centre has also provided me with the opportunity to create impacts on coastal communities through stakeholder engagements, policy dialogues and outreach programmes.
