Arcadis has a strong presence internationally and has a strong track record in the field of coastal and marine ecology, coastal morphology, coastal modelling, coastal engineering, coastal structures, embankments, and climate change adaptation including the socio-economic aspects. Arcadis operates through 4 primary business lines: water, infrastructure, environment, and buildings:
• Water - focused on the entire water cycle. We support the supply of clean drinking water by water planning, hydraulic modelling, treatability studies, regulatory compliance analysis and treatment system design. We also advise on water management and engineering for rivers, marine management, coastal zones, urban and rural water, and on issues related to climate change.
• Environment - focused on activities that protect the environment and enhance sustainability, like clean-up related to soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment pollution. Also, environmental impact assessments, solid waste management, master planning, strategic advice, economic assessments, ecosystems restoration, climate change adaptation, renewable energy, health & safety and services for noise abatement, air quality, and preservation of nature.
• Building – activities from design to quantity surveying and construction project management and supervision.
• Infrastructure - encompasses services for transportation (traffic management, highways, roads, railways, ports, waterways, bridges, tunnels); land development; energy (hydropower, windmill farms).
