Activities
The IMMC developed a pioneer education social technology that aims to transform children into Guardians of the Ocean. They bring children closer to the coastal/marine environment, offering significant learning experiences that connect them to the environment they live in. Children’s instrumentalization with research tools incentivates their sense of curiosity and exploration, as well as their knowledge. Their goal is to contribute to the formation of responsible, critical, proactive, and more aware citizens, engaging children in a Junior Ocean Guardian Network around the world to share knowledge and experience, and to inspire their communities to protect the Ocean.
To achieve this goal, since 2019 they have been training educators to replicate their social technology in other locations. Furthermore, they are currently working on developing online educational resources to spread knowledge about the oceans and its preservation.
