The Cape Horn International Center for Global Change Studies and Biocultural Conservation (Cape Horn International Center for Global Change Studies and Biocultural Conservation, CHIC) is the first basal research center of excellence in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Region, and is funded by the National Agency for Research and Development, ANID . The CHIC is a scientific research project under the Subantarctic Biocultural Conservation Program that seeks to extend the work carried out for more than 20 years.

This emerges from the University of Magallanes through a consortium also made up of the University of Chile, Pontifical Catholic University, Central University, University of Talca, Catholic University of Temuco, University of Los Lagos and the Center for Research in Ecosystems of Patagonia. , CIEP (Aysén), plus an international network coordinated by the University of North Texas, United States.
