Mainly teaching and research. Presently the Director, Institute of Oceanography, University of Calabar, Nigeria. Direct the research and academic activities of the Institute. Direct the administration of the Institute in relation to the wider University community. Involved in teaching of undergraduate and graduate students and supervision of B.Sc Research Projects, and Postgraduate, M.Sc and Ph.D Theses. Coordinate research of the Institute and linkages with other research centres in and outside Nigeria.

I am a researcher in Fishery Biology with a Ph.D in Fisheries and Aquaculture. I engage in designing research projects and educational programmes including curriculum design. Teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of Fish population dynamics, stock assessment, marine biology and marine policy. Analysis of data using basic ststitical packages such as SPSS. Use of Microsoft Office packages.

I am a beneficiary of Post-doctoral fellowship of the Alxander von Humboldt Foundation, Bonn, Germany. I had a 19-month fellowship studying the biomass and size spectra of fish populations in the Baltic Sea, at the Institute of Baltic Sea Fishery (IFM), Rostock Germany.
