Activities

I study the marine biogeochemical cycles of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur with a particular focus on the northern Mediterranean and the western Arctic Ocean. I contributed to the discovery of cold seeps in the glacial depression of the Kveithola Trough (northwestern Barents Sea). Since 2023 I am PI of the MEFISTO project (PRIN 2022 PNRR), which aims to determine the actual contribution of the coastal marine environment to the atmospheric methane budget
